The Village Administrator and the other employees in the Administration Office carry out administrative and operational duties as assigned by the Village President and the Board of Trustees. These duties include providing staff support to the Village President and the Village Board as well as committees and commissions, processing citizen requests, administering the election process, planning and zoning administration, budgeting, dog licensing, coordinating rental and usage of the Village Hall, park facilities and the Sports Complex, and utility billings and collections.

The Village provides assessor services through a contract with Michael Walker, a trained professional Assessor, who has served the Village since 1977. The Village Assessor has three major duties; to discover, list and estimate the value of all taxable property within the jurisdiction of the Village.


                                        BUILDING PERMITS

The Village has established a number of rules and regulations regarding remodeling and new construction, most of which require Building Permits, and has contracted with Independent Inspection Services to issue Building Permits and conduct inspections.

To obtain a Building Permit or schedule an inspection please contact  the employees at Independent Inspection Services. They hold office hours at the Liberty Grove Town Hall, 11161 Old Stage Road on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.


FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Sister Bay-Liberty Grove Fire Department operates as a joint effort between the Village of Sister Bay and the Town of Liberty Grove. Door County provides Paramedic services to area residents while operating out of the South Station located in Sister Bay. Along with normal fire fighting duties, the Fire Department employees provide cold water/ice rescue, automobile extrication, and carbon monoxide checks for residents. They also conduct fire inspections of commercial buildings in the Village and Town at least once a year.

                      GARBAGE COLLECTION & RECYCLING

The Village contracts with Going Garbage to provide residential and commercial garbage and recycling collection.

MARINA

The Village operates a seasonal marina located at 10733 North Bay Shore Drive. The Marina contains seasonal as well as transient slips and opens in May of each year. It closes for the season during the third week in October.

MUSEUM
The Corner of the Past/Sister Bay Historical Society

The Corner of the Past is operated by the Sister Bay Historical Society and features a restored farmhouse, farm buildings, hundreds of artifacts, tools and farm implements, as well as historic photos of Sister Bay. A weekly farm market is also conducted on the grounds on Saturdays from July through the first week in October, and local artisans demonstrate their skills as part of the Saturday Heritage Programs.

PARKS

There are a number of public parks available for your enjoyment in the Village.

It is also possible to rent or reserve some Village facilities, including the Village Hall located at 10693 N. Bay Shore Drive, and the Sports Complex located on Autumn Court. For rental information contact the employees in the Administration Office.

Tax bills are generally mailed to all Village property owners during the first two weeks in December. The Village contracts with the Door County Treasurer’s Office to collect all of its real and personal property taxes, so if you have any questions regarding the balance due for real or personal property taxes please contact the employees in the County Treasurer's Office.

It is possible to make online payments by credit card but there are fees which apply. http://witreasurers.org


                             STREETS & STREET LIGHTING
The Village contracts with the Door County Highway Department to provide snowplowing services for all public streets in the Village. The Village's Maintenance Department employees remove snow from Village sidewalks and do minor street patching on an as needed basis. If you have any questions or comments regarding the condition of streets in the Village please contact the Administration Office - 920-854-4118.

The Village also contracts with Wisconsin Public Service for street lighting on its public streets. If a street light fails to light, please contact Wisconsin Public Service to report the outage at 1-800-450-7260.

VOTING AND VOTER REGISTRATION

Polling Place:  South Fire Station - 2258 Mill Road
Hours:  7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Election Days.
Pre-Register at the Administration Office - 2383 Maple Drive

The official polling place for the Village is the South Sister Bay-Liberty Grove Fire Station located at 2258 Mill Road. The polls are open on election days from 7:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.

All qualified Village residents who are at least 18 years of age are eligible to vote, but they must be registered. It is possible to register at the polls, but if you would like to pre-register please contact Christy Sully, the Village Clerk-Treasurer, at least two days before the election. You will be required to present at least one form of identification which contains your street address, not a Post Office box number. Acceptable forms of identification are a driver's license or a utility or telephone bill.

The Village's Poll Workers are:  Shirley Adams, Claire Baack, Norman Carroll, Jacki Hoekstra, Don Johnson, John Lagerlof and Art Walrabenstein.
